Science Fair Deadlines
All text should be impersonal. Do Not use the words "my" "I" and "you". Most sentences should be imperative, as the sentences are in the steps of the scientific method below.
All measurements should be converted to the metric system. There are computer programs that will do this if the original measurements are not metric.
- October 1, 2018--Testable question with project work-up sheet is due.
- October 30, 2018--Research is due. You must have 10 sources. Use EasyBib to put your research in the correct form. Download to Google Docs. and share with Mrs. Slaby. Before you print, be sure to change "Works Cited" to "Research."
- November 16, 2018--Hypothesis in "If...then..." form is due. Use Google Docs and share it with Mrs. Slaby.
- December 14, 2018--Experimental procedure is due. Use Google Docs and share it with Mrs. Slaby. Your experiment should read like a recipe and be so detailed that anyone could follow your directions and get the same results. Be specific in all your directions and measurements.
- March 11, 2019 The projects should be finished. Each project should have been run 3 times. Completed Science Fair boards are due at school. Practice presentations start today!
- March 19, 2019 Science Fair Today! Judging will take place during the school day. Public viewing and awards presentation will be in the evening. Students will be notified of the times as the date draws closer.

1 State the problem or question.
2 Gather information on the problem; do research.
3. Form a hypothesis based on the research.
4. Perform an experiment to test the hypothesis.
5. Observe and collect data; record the results.
6. State a conclusion.
7. Repeat the experiment.
